Love the sihouettes especially the tall tree on the left - the contrast against the colors just pops! Reminds me of dendritic agate (sorry :-), my other hobby is mineral collecting). Love the sun just peaking through. Well done!

@Marion: Hi Marion, I normally am up by 6:15 (so I can Keep everyone else on time). I took this around 6:55am. I didn't use a tripod for this one as my shutter speed was fast enough. My exposure compensation was set at -1 and my white balance on cloudy.

This is an absolutely wonderful shot, Mary! Thanks for the settings info. Now... about the near-3-D effect of the silhouetted trees. Photosanity was right - the image just pops with contrast. Any special post-processing applied... that you'd like to share with your viewers? Thanks for sharing this terrific picture with us!!

@Tony Duque: Thank you so much for your kind comments. I did use a filter on this and On several of my other sunrise photos. If interested it is free...you can go tow www.xero-graphics.co.uk They have 4 sets of free filters. I downloaded them all as there are a few I like in each set. But my all time fave is Porcelain which is what I used on this image. But I cannot tell you the settings as I didn't write them down. Try the preset settings and go from there. It is similar to the ortan effect.
