jamesy from christchurch, New Zealandso stunning looks like the sky is on fire another 5 stars I just love the tones 16 Apr 2009 5:41am Photosanity from Folsom, United StatesLove the sihouettes especially the tall tree on the left - the contrast against the colors just pops! Reminds me of dendritic agate (sorry :-), my other hobby is mineral collecting). Love the sun just peaking through. Well done! 16 Apr 2009 6:16am Betty from New Jersey, United StatesFive stars! Superb! ;-) 16 Apr 2009 11:35am @Eric Cousineau: Thanks Eric...You are too kind :) Marion from Cincinnati, United StatesWOW!!! the colors are breath-taking. When did you have to get up for such morning glory? Did you use a tripod? Please let me know :) 16 Apr 2009 11:56am @Marion: Hi Marion, I normally am up by 6:15 (so I can Keep everyone else on time). I took this around 6:55am. I didn't use a tripod for this one as my shutter speed was fast enough. My exposure compensation was set at -1 and my white balance on cloudy. Tony Duque from Raleigh, United StatesThis is an absolutely wonderful shot, Mary! Thanks for the settings info. Now... about the near-3-D effect of the silhouetted trees. Photosanity was right - the image just pops with contrast. Any special post-processing applied... that you'd like to share with your viewers? Thanks for sharing this terrific picture with us!! 16 Apr 2009 5:53pm @Tony Duque: Thank you so much for your kind comments. I did use a filter on this and On several of my other sunrise photos. If interested it is free...you can go tow www.xero-graphics.co.uk They have 4 sets of free filters. I downloaded them all as there are a few I like in each set. But my all time fave is Porcelain which is what I used on this image. But I cannot tell you the settings as I didn't write them down. Try the preset settings and go from there. It is similar to the ortan effect. mo.langel from Courtelary, SwitzerlandMagnifiques couleurs de ciel! Très belle image! 16 Apr 2009 7:42pm Sugata from Newark, United StatesWow!
