Magda from Vancouver, CanadaFantastic!!!! Love those little birds. My girls hand feed them at the local nature trail.... What a wonderful composition, detail and colour! Outstanding!!! 15 Apr 2009 5:44am Suzanne from Huntington Bch, California, United StatesMarvelous...he looks like he's posing for you. The sharpness in the foreground and the bokeh...pure perfection. 15 Apr 2009 6:03am zOOm from Paris, FranceGreat attitude, as if he were trying to make one with this dead branch... incredible. 15 Apr 2009 11:00am john4jack from Corvallis, Oregon, United StatesTerrific capture. Superb selective focus and detail. 15 Apr 2009 2:44pm Ti from Alpharetta, United StatesThey are fast and hard to catch (a photo, that is), always have that trade mark pose on an angle, I have yet to see one standing straight on a branch. Only have few shots of them myself. Nice catch. :-) 15 Apr 2009 2:47pm @Ti: This is their classic pose or even more times upside down! And when they get sunflower seeds from my feeder they will take them and place them in the cracks in the tree bark and then proceed to peck open the seed...They must not be able to hold things with their feet like the other perching birds do. Jean-François from Les Issambres, Francepppffffffffffffffff quelle image fantastique !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 15 Apr 2009 4:45pm willow from Chelsea, United StatesSuch crisp focus!!!! Do you use a tripod to get these so perfect? I love your birds. 15 Apr 2009 6:17pm @willow: I happy you like them!!! I usually am resting my elbows on my knees because I'm sitting on a chair OR I have the lens on the window sill. Depending which branch they land on you have to move quickly and my tripod is not free moving enough so I don't use it. Now I could use my tripod for this exact capture above because there is only one or two places where they land most times on this perch I found. It is an old tree stump I found in the woods. This bird is actually sitting on what use to be a root on the tree. I have it laying on its side so the roots are sticking up in the air. It has a nice aged look to it. observing from North West, United KingdomThis has my 5 stars today for composition, creation, and sharpness. An excellent shot. 15 Apr 2009 10:17pm Linerberry from Sumner, Christchurch, New ZealandWhat an absolute delight Mary!!
